Ein kleines Buch voller Bilder über den heutigen Zustand der Staatsbahn Uruguays AFE, nach Strecken geordnet. Es ist kein bahntechnisches Buch. Nach einer kurzen Einführung folgt eine kurze Geschichte des Bahnwesens im Land. Die Bilder geben den fortschreitenden Zerfall der Bahn augenscheinlich wieder. Doch auch kleine Hoffnungsschimmer sind zu sehen, wie die Reparatur der Linie nach Rivera, der verbliebene Personenverkehr ab Montevideo oder der Güterverkehr auf einigen Strecken. Nebst einigen Zügen findet man auch Bahnhöfe in ihrem aktuellen Zustand und die Menschen, egal ob Eisenbahner oder nicht, welche damit zu tun haben. Eine Übersichtskarte und eine Liste der Bahnhöfe inkl. ihrem derzeitigen Zustand (in Betrieb, geschlossen, abgerissen usw.) runden das Buch ab. Es ist das erste derartige Werk über die AFE. (R).
